A wrong kingdom is worth zero points in OdysseyGuessr, so the most expensive mistakes come from kingdoms that look alike at a glance. This cheat sheet lists the confusing pairs and the quickest ways to separate them. Each kingdom also has a full page in the kingdom guides.
Think in layers
Check things in this order: sky and lighting, dominant colour, architecture, then props and characters. The first two layers settle most rounds before you read any detail.
Dark settings
- Cap Kingdom is built from hat shapes with a foggy, violet-grey night look.
- Dark Side and Darker Side are late-game challenge areas, so look for their floating-platform layout instead of towns.
- Moon Kingdom is grey craters and low-gravity terrain, so if you see wedding scenery it belongs there.
Wet and green
- Lake Kingdom has a lot of water and glass-like architecture.
- Seaside Kingdom is sunny beaches, bright blue water and a resort feel.
- Wooded Kingdom mixes forest with industrial metal walkways.
Cold and hot
- Snow Kingdom is white and icy.
- Sand Kingdom is pale desert and ruins.
- Luncheon Kingdom is food-themed, with vivid reds and oranges.
Cities and castles
- Metro Kingdom is a realistic city with streets and skyscrapers.
- Mushroom Kingdom is the peaceful castle-and-grounds setting.
- Bowser's Kingdom is dark stone, castle architecture and lava tones.
When you are stuck
Choose the kingdom whose map offers the biggest safe area, then use your anchor to pin. Also check the beginner mistakes post for the most common slip-ups.
