This policy explains what data OdysseyGuessr collects, why we collect it, and what your rights are.

What we collect
- Account data: email, optional nickname, hashed password, sign-in provider.
- Gameplay data: your guesses, scores, multiplayer match history, submitted places and suggestions.
- Technical data: IP address, browser user-agent, session tokens — used for security, anti-abuse, and diagnostics.
- Local storage: preferences such as language, dark mode, adblock-popup dismissal timer.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and localStorage entries strictly needed for the site to work (authentication, preferences). Advertising partners may set their own cookies — see below.
Advertising
OdysseyGuessr is funded by ads served through third-party networks (currently including widthwidowzoology.com and Adsterra). These networks may collect device and browsing data as described in their own privacy policies. Without ad revenue we cannot keep the game free.
Third-party processors
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Google — optional sign-in with Google.
- Resend — transactional email (e.g. password reset).
- Ad networks as listed above.
Legal basis (GDPR)
Contract performance (running the game), legitimate interest (security, anti-abuse), and consent where required (some cookies/ads).
Retention
Account data is kept while the account exists. Match history is kept as long as it's useful for gameplay. IP logs are kept for a short period for abuse investigation.
Your rights
You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data, and object to certain processing. Contact contact@timexostudios.abrdns.com.
Children
OdysseyGuessr is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
